POEM OF THE WEEK
The New Paul
When he has had much spirits to drink
A drink of water keeps him from the brink.
Holding on to the bottle of water for show
Passers-by know that water is a scarecrow.
How could something so harmless
Do such damage as to make Paul legless?
His slurring leaves no one in doubt
That Paul’s morning light is all but out.
Paul, bless him, he deserves heaven, if it be
That entry therein was down to none but me.
Because he lived as in hell while on earth
I would most gladly flip the coin at his death.
Though for Paul all hope seemed lost
Heaven has a place for even the worst.
While no one was looking, as a duty
Someone was filling the life that was empty
Praying and ministering to his daily need
Not minding even if Paul paid no heed.
For Paul, the letter to the Colossians
Was the same as that to the Ephesians.
One thing Paul desired to find out
Even when he was quite spaced out
How it was that the Paul who wrote
Was the same vile Saul who smote?
I don’t know which letter did the trick
But the process was far from quick.
When finally Paul gave up the booze
The noose around his neck came loose.
Now in the hostel for the homeless
The new Paul left many speechless.
Though the off license lost business
We thank God for His faithfulness.

POEM OF THE WEEK
Marriage is a package deal,
With candy and quinine in one meal.
If the sweet you must take,
The bitter too, for the sweet's sake.
None from the other can be divorced,
Endorse one, you have both endorsed.
Your hope’s on a pretty face,
Adorable even with a grimace,
A face blessed with ready smiles,
Radiant from twenty sea miles.
Good in manners and disposition,
Arousing envy and opposition.
With a body soft and tender,
The brightest star of her gender.
Marriage is a package deal,
You kill the calf to get the veal.
Your desires are by Heaven halved,
The part’s granted, the other shelved.
Blessed with a face smooth and fine,
But her manners none can refine.
As she comes behind her face,
It remains her beguiling mace.
If you go for the colour of the veil,
Brief on the sea may be your sail.
Itchy fingers bear fine nails,
Like shiny shells and dead snails.
Every virtue on the outside,
Is countered with a vice inside,
But a perfunctory glance,
Reveals not that balance.
Her hair may be a pacesetter,
But it may shield a weak matter.
The vacant seat in the common,
Could well make you a Solomon.
The kitchen, though spotless,
The food may be tasteless.
A dead horse must rot,
The owner pretty or not.
Marriage is a package deal,
Fair and foul under one seal.

Punctuality is something we all struggle with everyday. A constant race against the clock. To be aware and stay ahead as much as we know how to. We will go out of our way to make sure something gets done most of the time. When it comes to God,for some reason we stall, we procrastinate. Why is that? You would think that since it was God, we would be as prompt and punctual that we humanely knew how to. Unfortunately for many of us, acting when God instructs us to is the last thing we do. And doing this leads to missed opportunities.
Below are only a few of the reasons to act instantly when God calls. The actual amount of reasons to act quickly is unmeasurable! The more you act quickly, the more of your life that you can live on your path of a destiny pre-chosen specifically for you.
1. The Call of Opportunity ~
Many of us our told that God has a plan for us,that God has a purpose for us. Very few of us are operating under that plan or purpose in our lives. Some may be due to not wanting to make the necessary sacrifices when God asks, some are refusing to change, and others are too afraid to leave their comfort zones. Whatever the situation,it all equals to missed opportunities. These opportunities was intended to fulfill God's promises to you,to answer a prayer you made,to deliver you,and to allow you favor. Acting instantly when God instructs you is key to taking advantage of the opportunities presented to you from above. Jeremiah 46:17
2. The Call for Help ~
Out of no where you hear this calm voice tell you to "Walk out the front door." For a lot of us,we would question this voice and it's instruction immediately. For those who know this voice, which is the Holy Spirit, they would act quickly and proceed to walk outside. Avoiding asking questions and shortening the time it takes to act can actually save the life of someone you love or even a complete stranger.Acting quickly answers the call from God who had just received a prayer for deliverance out of danger. Because you was close enough to the person in need and obedient to the call,God was able to answer that prayer for that individual. Leviticus 25:35
3. The Call for Answered Prayers ~
Let me to encourage you all to broaden your perspectives on how God answers prayers. God works through windows in time, showering blessings and answering prayers in clusters. So while you already have petitions and prayers made to heaven, many around you have the same. It not only glorifies God to answer the prayer of an entire area, but He loves to respond with a cluster of blessing, solutions, helping hands, and resources. God is kept waiting at times, waiting for that obedient believer to answer to the call and in turn answer the prayers of others. Psalm 4:1
4. The Call of Direction ~
Many of us ask repeatedly, "Lord, how do I get on path, get in line with my destiny?" God is constantly showing us and instructing us ways to do this. Fear, self doubt, disbelief, worry all distracts us from not only hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit correctly, but even trying to apply the instructions made towards our lives. All this sabotages our success and motivation towards trying to acquire what God had planned for our lives. There will always be that point in time to where we have to be willing to meet God halfway and wait for the next instruction for direction. Until that time of wait,we must be willing to act quickly to the call of direction as soon as God instructs us. 1 Corinthians 16:9
5. The Call of Destiny ~
Remaining obedient will ensure opportunity, assist an individual that needs help, answer prayers, give you direction in life. Even though some may experience detours in life, all these actions will eventually lead you to your destiny. It is the integrity, the determination to be obedient to God that keeps you driven to run the race. There is no need for worry because the opportunities God puts before you can not be destroyed, they can only be neglected by you. I encourage you today to act as soon as you hear the instruction from God,do not put off any longer your call to destiny! Revelation 3:8
Let today be the day that you may be encouraged to put all procrastination behind you. Allow yourself the chance to act accordingly and receive the rewards from living out your true destiny in life!

1. Strengthens Faith - Receiving a prophecy prepared just for you can be very encouraging and help you to find a source of strength. God is our strength and to grow your faith in the father everyday will help you to be equipped in today's world.Prophecy helps you to discover hidden strengths that you have already had living inside of you.
2. Confirmation - Some have found while receiving a prophecy, confirmations of instructions they had already been hearing from God themselves but have yet to act on it.Confirmations of prayers made to the father whether the prayers have been recent or from long ago.Confirmations in the form of an answer to a burning question.
After receiving your first prophecy,it is very important to take the words received to God in prayer. Then wait for confirmation for truth of the prophecy to be revealed. You may also take the prophecy to your local Pastor to view.
3. Direction - There are many of you who are either a new believer or a long term believer in Christ.Which ever the case may be both still encounter the same questions in their walk and that is "What is my calling, what does God want me to do,where do I fit in?" A prophet (maturity of the prophet does vary and can have an impact here) can sense the calling, the mantle, and the spirit of an individual.A prophet can detect the gifts that has been put upon an individual by the Holy Spirit. For example: If God has called you to preach the word to his kingdom then you are being called to be a Pastor.
4. Edification - A prophet is called to edify the congregations and the churches. They do this by reminding us of how much power we have access to by believing in Jesus. The scripture holds valuable lessons and if we are influenced to apply what we learn then you have access to a more positive approach in your life.Edification is uplifting and brings peace to the seeker.
5. Intercessory Prayer - When a prophet prays, things happen,God really moves. Having a prophet to pray you through a tough situation that you are facing is like tapping into the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.A prophet's diligent prayer opens up the heavens for change to take place.A dedicated prophet will stay in prayer 8 hours each day. Most of that prayer is for the well being and benefits of others, not themselves.
6.Prophetic Insight - A prophet's insight can be a powerful tool. Their insight can give you clarity in the twists and turns of the road called life. They can fore warn you of either upcoming events or how the actions you are making today can be the future recipe for disaster.Their insight can prepare you for the next phase, the next season, even your next move in life.It is ultimately up to God what insight he chooses the prophet to know.
7.Identification - Requesting a prophecy can help you to identify faults, strong points, weaknesses, iniquities, sins, gifts, different advantages you currently have.Once you can identify what you have working with or against you then you actually have a better handle on the situation at hand.God said "Let not my people be destroyed due to a lack of knowledge."
8. Restore Peace - People spend millions of dollars each year just for peace of mind.Being able to seek God whether it be on your own or having a prophet to do this will restore peace to your mind and your heart. You will be able to find the missing puzzle pieces, that solution you over looked, that instruction given at the right moment in time.Being reminded that you are not alone,God is with you every step of the way actually gives you a type of peace you just can't put a price tag on!
9. To Be Released - Once you have identified the strong holds working against you, have finally put a name on the iniquity that is weighing on your heart, recognized all that is keeping you from knowing God intimately then life will be more rewarding. You will be released from all this bondage holding you captive day in and day out.God has promised us a way out and he uses his prophets to encourage, break strong holds, and provide solution.
10. To Get Answers - We all face some really intense trials, decisions, confusion, and struggles every second of the day.Why try and figure all this out by yourself? Seek God or his prophets to help give you the answers you have been searching for.Allow yourself to receive the information needed in your life for spiritual growth, moving to that next level in life, increasing your love for the heavenly father. When you contact a prophet with any question, any matter big or small, you are utilizing the body of Christ.
So take advantage of the resources God has put before you. This is God's plan for you to live the abundant life,to need for nothing.

In the New Testament, there's a story about a woman who was caught in the act of adultery. The religious leaders of the time had already condemned her in their minds, and the law said that she should be stoned. Out of curiosity, they brought her to Jesus to see what He would do, and Jesus surprised them all with His response to the situation.
Instead of condemning the woman, Jesus showed love and compassion to her. In fact, He turned the whole situation around when He said to the crowd, "Whoever is without sin, throw the first stone." (See John 8:1–11). Then it says that the woman's accusers walked away one by one.
Jesus turned to the woman and asked, "Where are your accusers? Does anyone condemn you now?" She answered, "No one, Lord." Then Jesus said something very profound, something that gives us insight into His heart for us. He said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more." God was in essence saying, "I don't put My stamp of approval on condemnation. That's not what I'm about. I came to set you free."
Maybe you've encountered people who want to accuse you and "throw rocks" at you, but that's not God. He's never going to throw rocks at you or try to push you down. He loves you and wants to empower you to live in freedom, to live a better life. Maybe you've made some mistakes, maybe you've done some things you're not proud of, or maybe you've been hurt by someone who threw rocks at you. Today is your day to let go of that hurt and open your heart to receive God's love and forgiveness.
Remember, as long as we live, there will be accusing voices. The faultfinders and rock throwers will always be there. When the negative voices come, we can either believe them and stay stuck in condemnation or we can choose to believe God and walk in freedom knowing that we're forgiven, accepted and approved by God. It's up to us to cast the deciding vote for either freedom or condemnation; faith or fear; love or bitterness.
My prayer for you today is that you will understand your value and truly see what God has given you and what you have to offer others. Life is too short and too precious to waste a single moment in fear and condemnation. Instead, take captive every negative thought and choose to dwell on the truth of God's Word. Place your hope and confidence in Him so you can live in His everlasting freedom far above and beyond the accusing voices of this world.
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1 NIV)

In the Bible, when David faced Goliath, everyone around him was talking about the mountain. They were saying, "Goliath is so big. There's no way we can defeat him." Then along came a young man named David. He was only 17 years old. But somehow, he had a different perspective. When he saw Goliath, instead of saying, "He's so big. We don't have a chance," he said, "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the Living God?" He was saying, "Hey, wait a minute. This is not right. This mountain doesn't need to keep us from our destiny." David's friends and the people around him began to laugh. They said, "David, are you crazy? You can't fight Goliath. You're just a kid. You're too small. You don't have any experience." But David shook it off. He went out to face Goliath--his mountain--and Goliath began to laugh. When he saw how young and small David was, he said, "Am I a dog that you would come at me with a stick?" He was saying, "Don't you have anything better to send out against me than this little runt? It's not even going to be a fight." But, David wasn't focused on the size of his giant; he was focused on the size of his God. He didn't just pray that he would defeat Goliath. He didn't beg and plead with God. No, he knew he already had the victory! David spoke to his mountain. He looked Goliath in the eyes and said, "Goliath, you come against me with a sword and a shield, but I come against you in the name of the Lord God of Israel." In other words, "You've got a sword, but I've got something better. I've got the forces of heaven backing me up." He said, "Goliath, this day the Lord will deliver you into my hands. I will defeat you and feed your head to the birds of the air." He was saying, "You may be big, but I know my God is bigger. And when I speak to the mountain, God's promised it will be removed!"
If you're going to break old habits and make changes in your life, you've got to speak to the giants that mock your victory. No matter what you may be facing, no matter how big those goals and dreams may seem, start changing your words and declare victory. Don't talk about your mountain; talk to it! Don't tell the world how big your problems are; tell them how big your God is! Stand in faith, speak victory and move forward in the freedom and blessing God has in store for you!
"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them." (Mark 11:23 NIV)

I know a man that lost his wife over ten years ago. She was killed in an automobile accident. It was a very tragic situation. Of course, there is a normal period for grieving. That’s a part of the healing process. That’s the way God made us. But some ten years later, this man was still grieving. He let a season of mourning turn into a lifetime of mourning. He ended up a very bitter, angry man. What happened? He was holding on to the ashes. God wanted to give him beauty, but because he wouldn’t let go of the old, he couldn’t receive the new.
The enemy would love for you to spend your whole life sitting in the ashes, bitter over a relationship that didn’t work out, angry over a job you didn’t get, feeling sorry for yourself because of a loved one who died. It’s time to turn those ashes loose. If you went through a divorce, let it go. God has somebody better in your future. If you weren’t treated right growing up, let it go, and God will make it up to you. Quit mourning over what you cannot change. If God wanted you to have that position that you didn’t get, you would have it. Shake off the self-pity. Shake off the disappointment.
The apostle Paul put it this way, “Forgetting what lies behind, I strain toward what lies ahead.” That word “strain” indicates it’s going to take effort. If you go through a bad break or a loss, the easy thing to do is sit around and talk about how bad life is treating you. But if you’re going to keep moving forward, you’ve got to have a strong will. You’ve got to rise up like Paul and say, “That’s it. I am not holding on to these ashes. I know that what’s in my future is greater than what’s in my past. So I am pressing forward into the life of blessing God has in store for me!”

Philippians 1:6 - And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (ESV)
Paul encouraged the Christians in Philippi with these confident words. He had no doubt whatsoever that God would finish the good work he had begun in their lives.
So, let me extend Paul's reassuring message of support to you today: God will fulfill—He will bring to completion—the good work He started in you! What a relief! It's not up to you. God is the One who started it, and He is the One who will complete it. Salvation is God's work, not yours. It's a good work, and it's a sure work.
